The Author’s Style Code

The ASC is all about an author’s wardrobe and presence.

As an author and an editor myself, I know how important it is for all of us to show up and represent ourselves, as well as our books, as authentically as we possibly can. However, it’s not a skill set that tends to come alongside the gift of writing!

How many of us out there are massive introverts? Raise your hands because I see you! Saaame.

How many of us think that showing up for the headshot on the back of your book or your website means wearing your nicest shirt, a pair of slacks, getting a blowout, and wearing makeup too heavy for your daily couch-bum life? Lol…. We have all learned differently, haven’t we?

Or maybe we’re scared to learn how to do it, so we never get a professional photoshoot because we “know” that the photographer we paid heaps for is just going to make us look bad anyway, so why not just use a phone photo OR stay completely invisible?
